Affiliate Membership ECA Agreement

The Affiliate Membership of the European Crystallographic Association

  1. The ECA will provide an entry in the ECANEWS www pages denoted:  "Affiliate Members". This entry will appear in the block giving the contents of ECA NEWS . The corresponding Affiliate Members List will show the LOGO and the name of each Affiliate Member and  will also provide a LINK to the home page of the Affiliate Member.
  2. Similar entry will be included at the anonymous ECA ftp site.
  3. The list of Affiliate Members will also appear on ECA circulars or folders which are printed on behalf of the Executive Committee. If circulars and/or program booklets of the European Crystallographic  Meetings (ECM's) contain an entry describing the activities of the ECA in some length, a list of Affiliate Members will be included.
  4. The Affiliate Member has the right to appoint at most four of its employees as ECA Individual Members. These employees have the same rights as "normal" Individual Members, such as the right to vote for representation in the Council and reduction of participation  fee for European Crystallographic Meetings (ECM's.)
  5. The Executive Committee will ask the organisers of the ECM's to discuss technical details regarding commercial exhibitions at ECM's, in an early stage with the Affiliate Members. As the organisation if the ECM's is independent of the ECA this cannot be guaranteed.
  6. The annual fee will be 250 Euro (1 January - 31 December). Affiliate Members will be notified of any change in this amount, approved by the ECA council, at least three months before this change will become effective. The annual fee has to be paid before April 1st of the corresponding year.
  7. The application for Affiliate Membership will be considered by the  Executive Committee, and put forward for approval to the Council. The Affiliate Membership is accepted if the Council approves and takes effect as soon as the membership fee has been paid.
  8. The present agreement can be cancelled at any time by the ECA Council or by the Affiliate Member; if the agreement is cancelled before the first of August, half the annual fee paid by the (ex)Affiliate Member will be refunded.
  9. The ECA is at an early stage of its development, and many details of its organisation have not yet been fixed properly. Therefore the present agreement should be open for developments.
